COLOUR BAR: Colour, Space and Bits per Pixel

“COLOUR BAR is an exhibition that places in proximity bits of creative minds from the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, channeled together through a showcase that is dedicated to feature time-based media art.” Curated by Hind Bin Demaithan. Mansour participated in Colour Bar by creating the installation piece Exist as Two. The Installation is made up of two physical pieces and a writing. The two pieces are rebirths of digital pieces he made in 2016 that were shared on social media.

City of the Asleep

City of the Asleep, aka Frequency, is a visual monologue on the topic of sleep. Performance by Jono Jun.

(Note: The film includes a sound that will increase in volume and pitch, it might reach an uncomfortable level depending on your audio levels.)

Effect and Cause

Effect and Cause (aka Reflections) is a film installation created by Mansour in 2018. The installation is a cozy cubicle made from textiles that invites 1-2 people to sit-in and watch videos of reflections on a TV screen. The videos were collectively recorded by people from different cities around the world, who video-recorded their living room TV screen while it is are turned off. Meaning essentially, those participants were recording the reflections of their living rooms being reflected on their TV screen. The videos were edited and presented in a way that gave the viewer the illusion that they are watching Images being reflected on the TV in-front of them.

Effect and Cause is attempting, through the use of negative space, to create an experience of instant transport for the viewer.

“Unsynchronized Assembly” video experiment

The reason montage in Films work is because our brains are capable of making a correlation between two different pictures, and then assuming a meaning or a connection between them. Unsynchronized Assembly is an experiment that attempts to examine a higher level of that ability by adding an additional layer. That layer is the relationship between image and sound within an assembly of videos.

(Note: The videos used in this experiment are collected from the internet with no permission. The sole intent behind the experiment is research, it is not to be exhibited commercially, and there is no financial gain from it)
