Black Screen

A moment of reflection, a representation of blindness, representation of deafness, literal darkness, absence of space, a beginning, an ending, a transition, a moment of visual silence, an error, an opposition of whiteness, as an absence of color, avoidance of meaning, a clean start to a definition, to grab attention, to ask “are you ready to give me your attention”.

These are examples to why when a TV is disconnected from any signal, instead of showing a black screen, it will display a visual image informing the viewer that there is no information being represented. Because a black screen says a lot.

We are hybrid creations, not as a result, but as a process.
Who I was and what I have done is not who I am. Who I am now is fueled by where I am going, and the “was” always comes through unsolicited in the process of being now. Our existence on a fundamental level is made up of (was-am-will be) within the same bracket at the same time, and each phase exist in a different form in a different world.

I exist in hybridity. I exist in opposition. I exist in the same way a black screen says something.
